today we engaged in an activity in which we brought one of our belonging that has a memory attached it it. We all sat and drew it on cardboard pieces. It gave me an experience of collective art and hoe everyone has a unique experience and interpretation of it.
Daily encounters with the arts have a significant influence on people's "identity and view of the world" and daily life. When we act together, how and what do we learn? What common issues or lifestyle choices bring this "we" together? Which behaviors maintain open boundaries within the common and strengthen ties of solidarity? Through addressing the particular conditions, means, and experiences of artistic, scientific, and activist techniques of the collective, the artistic-academic symposium sharing/learning will test and debate different forms of collective action.
The symposium is seen as an event when people come together to talk, listen, and experiment with different approaches. It's an invitation to take part and simultaneously investigate what comes to light in this environment. The performativity and goals of communal practices become clear in this way: When and why do people congregate, converse, listen, play, draw, cook, inquire, touch, sing, and so on? What potential emerges and what information is so generated?
Our goal is to create a space where people can reassemble different collective methods, share them with one another, and learn from one another in a format that integrates practice and discussion over the course of two days through workshops, roundtables, and participatory actions.
